Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser when you use a website. They can keep you signed in, remember settings and help measure how a service is used. We also use browser storage and PWA caches; these are not cookies, but we explain them below for transparency.

2. Cookies set by giggin.eu

The following table reflects the cookies that the current application can set. An asterisk (*) represents a suffix generated by Matomo for the site and domain. Matomo is self-hosted by us, but its analytics cookies are first-party cookies stored on giggin.eu.

3. Other browser storage

Giggin uses the following browser features in addition to cookies:

  • Local storage remembers your colour theme, language, region and preferred discovery distance under keys such as theme, locale, giggin-region and giggin-distance-radius. It normally remains until you change the setting or clear site data.
  • Session storage temporarily holds information such as a location you explicitly request, unfinished registration or Studio Guide form data, and session-only prompt choices. It normally ends when the browser session ends.
  • As a Progressive Web App, Giggin uses Cache Storage and IndexedDB to keep application files and selected public resources available efficiently. Private pages are excluded from runtime caching. Browser controls for clearing site data remove these stores.

4. Third-party services

Some features contact other providers. Those providers control any cookies or similar technologies placed on their own domains, and their names and lifetimes may change:

  • YouTube: artist and venue pages can load embedded YouTube players. YouTube may store or access cookies and other identifiers when a player loads or is used, and embedded videos may contain advertising.
  • Google and Meta: Google sign-in and Facebook connection features redirect you to the relevant provider, which may use its own cookies during authentication.
  • Stripe: subscription checkout and the billing portal are hosted by Stripe. Stripe may use cookies on its pages for security, fraud prevention and payment functionality.
  • Pusher: Studio messaging can connect to Pusher Channels for real-time updates. Our integration does not deliberately create an additional Giggin cookie for this connection.

5. Managing cookies and browser storage

You can view, block or delete cookies and other site data through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies can prevent sign-in, Studio profile selection and other requested features from working correctly.

Blocking or deleting Matomo cookies removes or prevents its cookie identifiers, but browser tracking protection or content-blocking controls may also be needed to prevent analytics requests. You can use Giggin without signing in, although authenticated and Studio features will be unavailable.

We will update this policy when the cookies, storage technologies or providers we use change. Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected].
